Devotional
Waiting is a process everyone must go through. You cannot rush it, and if you try to manipulate it, you only delay the time even longer. The season of waiting is not wasted time — it is holy ground where God is doing His deepest work in us.
Waiting is where character is refined. It is where our motives are tested and our faith is stretched. What we often see as a delay, God sees as development. He is not withholding from us; He is preparing us for what He has already promised.
Think of Joseph waiting in the pit, then in Potiphar's house, then in prison — all while carrying a dream God had given him. Think of David, anointed as king yet running from Saul for years before ever sitting on the throne. God was not late. He was faithful. He was building the person who could carry the promise.
When we grow impatient, we are tempted to make things happen in our own strength. We push doors God has not opened. We settle for less than what He has spoken. But every shortcut has a price, and every manipulated outcome delays the fullness of what God intended.
Stay the course. Do not lose heart.
The One who called you is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24). Your waiting is not evidence that God has forgotten you — it is evidence that He is still working.
Reflection
Where in your life are you tempted to rush ahead of God? What would it look like to trust His timing instead of forcing your own?
Prayer
Father,
Teach me to wait on You. Quiet the anxious places in my heart that want to run ahead of Your timing. Help me trust that You are working even when I cannot see the outcome.
Renew my strength as I wait. Keep me faithful in the process, and let me not grow weary in doing good. I choose to believe that Your timing is perfect, and Your promises are true.
